Membership
Open to all D.G.C members over the age of 55 years. Members over 50 may join if they are partially or fully retired. The current membership fee is £5.00
Competitions
Monday , Wednesday and Friday competitions. Entry £1.00. We meet in the car park and put balls in a bag to draw out for three or four balls. Play usually starts at 8:15-8:30 a.m.
This system avoids the formation of cliques and enables new members to meet and play with a variety of partners. If a minimum of 12 play the prizes of a bottle of wine , 2 balls and 1 ball are awarded to the first three.
Once a month a whisky run is held with the winner receiving the aforementioned bottle of whisky. Any other club members are welcome to join us if they are at a loose end but cannot participate in the competition.
Major Competitions
Entry fee £2.00. There are 7 Majors held every year. These are Qualifying competitions and scores are entered for handicap adjustment. Prizes for the first three in each competition are 1 Litre whisky, a bottle of wine and a sleeve of balls.
Inter-club matches
We currently enjoy 12 home and away matches with clubs in North Wales and Cheshire. These are held between April and September. The cost of these is currently£10.00 which includes the golf , a two or three course meal and prizes for two’s. A raffle for bottles of whisky or wine is also included.
Away Days
We currently enjoy three away days each year at Clubs not normally on our fixture list. The cost of these away days is currently subsidised from Senior section funds by 50%
